Who Qualifies for Assistance from Health Access Initiative?

The Health Access Initiative is designed to help adults who are at or below 150% of the federal poverty level and living in Hall County.  They are generally employed and make too much money each year to qualify for Medicaid or other healthcare assistance.  But they cannot afford high monthly insurance premiums.  In fact, they cannot afford to pay for physician office visits, and even when they do, they don't have funds available to fill their prescriptions.  Most end up using the hospital emergency room for treatment after illnesses have progressed to stages that are more difficult and more expensive to treat.

In our offices on Sherwood Park Drive, specially trained staff will work with applicants to determine if they qualify for a referral for treatment.  Qualification criteria include:

  • Residency in Hall County
  • Total household income below 150% Federal Poverty Level
  • No private insurance, Medicaid or Veteran’s Benefits
  • No other pharmaceutical coverage
  • Must be referred by a private physician who is a member of the physician network.
  • Injury or illness is not involved in any pending legal issues or work related.
